How to make an animated series where the character looks the same in every episode
Short answer
Make the character once, save it, and start every scene from that saved character instead of describing them again in words. Keep each scene short, and begin each new scene on the last frame of the one before, so the face, outfit and setting carry over. StudioRam is built this way: you save a character once, start new scenes from it, and What happens next? picks up from the last frame of the scene before.
Why characters change from one AI clip to the next
Most AI video tools make each clip from a text description. A sentence like “a girl in a red jacket” can be drawn a thousand ways, so every new clip guesses again: the face, the hair, the clothes and the colours shift a little each time. Put three clips side by side and it stops looking like the same person.
The fix is to give the tool a picture to keep, not a description to reinterpret.
The method (it works with any tool)
- Settle on one look. Make or upload one picture of the character that you are happy with: face, hair, outfit, colours. That picture is your reference.
- Reuse the picture, not the prompt. Start every scene from the saved picture. Pasting the same words again gives you a slightly different character each time.
- Keep each scene short, with one action. A short scene where one thing happens comes out right more often than a long scene with several things in it.
- Start each scene where the last one ended. Begin the next scene on the final frame of the previous one, so the character, the place and the light carry over.
- Stay in one art style. Switching styles halfway through a series changes the character with it.
- Watch every scene and redo the ones that slip. AI video still makes mistakes. Redo the one scene that went wrong, not the whole episode.
How to do it in StudioRam
- Open create.studioram.app and choose Make a scene. It runs in a web browser, with nothing to install.
- Under Who stars?, upload a photo of yourself or create a character from a description.
- Say what happens in your own words, then press Generate Preview to see the picture before anything is animated.
- If the character looks right, press Save this character. They are ready for every scene you make.
- Press Animate this scene. It takes 2 to 5 minutes and uses one scene credit (your first scene is free), and the finished video comes back with an AI voice on it.
- Under What happens next?, type the next moment. The new scene starts on the last frame of the one before, with the same cast and the same place.
What it costs
Your first scene is free, with no card; it carries a watermark. After that, scenes come in packs that never expire: 1 scene for $5.99, 5 for $24.99 ($5.00 each) or 15 for $59.99 ($4.00 each). The Creator plan is $29 a month for 12 scenes (15 in your first month), and you can cancel anytime. A scene is one continuous shot of up to 8 seconds; about 6 is typical. Here is what a whole series costs.
Questions
Can I use a photo of myself as the character?
Yes. Upload a photo under Who stars? and StudioRam makes an animated version you can save and reuse in every scene. Only use photos of yourself or of people who have given you their explicit consent: the Terms do not allow content that shows real people without it.
How long can one scene be?
Up to 8 seconds, and about 6 is typical. Longer stories are made of more scenes, each one continuing from the last.
Will the character look exactly the same in every scene?
Not always. AI video still makes mistakes, and results vary. When a scene slips, make that scene again; animating a scene uses one scene credit.
What do I get at the end?
A 720p MP4 for each scene. Paid scenes have no watermark, and the Terms license the videos to you for personal and commercial use, within the content rules.
The free scene needs no card. It is watermarked; paid scenes are not.
