FAQ

StudioRam FAQ: Make an Animated Series With AI

Short answers to the questions people ask most about turning a script into an animated series with StudioRam.

Make your first scene free → 1 free scene · no card

Can AI make an animated series from a script?

Yes. In StudioRam you paste or write your script, pick your characters, and each scene comes back as a finished animated clip with voice, sound and music. Scenes chain together with "What happens next", which continues from the last frame with the same cast and setting, so episodes build up scene by scene.

How do I keep the same character in every scene?

Save the character once and StudioRam reuses it as the reference for every scene it appears in. You can create a character from a description, upload your own design, or turn yourself into one from a photo.

Can I start a faceless animated YouTube channel with StudioRam?

Yes. You can build a recurring animated cast and narrate with AI voices, so nobody has to appear on camera. Output is a standard MP4 you can upload to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.

Do I need animation or editing experience?

No. If you can describe a scene in words, you can make it. Editing, transitions, sound effects, music and an AI voice are handled for you. Plan your story first. Animation is the last step.

How much does StudioRam cost?

You can start free, with one animation to try and no card. Planning, characters, places and comics do not use credits. Animating a scene into video uses credits, and you see the cost before it is spent. See Pricing for plans and how to get more credits.

What is a "scene"?

A scene is one continuous shot of up to 8 seconds (about 6 is typical), and it costs 1 credit. Longer videos and episodes are made of more scenes.

What quality is the output?

720p HD MP4 at 24fps, with no watermark on paid scenes.

Can I use the videos commercially?

Yes. Under our Terms, the videos and assets StudioRam makes are licensed to you for personal and commercial use, subject to the content policy, so you can use them on YouTube, social media and client work. You keep ownership of any original images you upload. See the Terms for details.

Can I change the voice after rendering?

Yes. You can switch the voice on a finished video. The free scene includes 1 voice change. A voice pack adds extra Change Voice tries plus a voice slot.

What if a scene doesn't come out right?

Preview and adjust the still look before you animate, which is faster and cheaper than re-rendering video. After a render you can redo the scene, and any plan or pack can also fix it in the Video Editor. Automated quality checks review each finished shot and flag problems. If a render fails, contact us: refunds for failed generations are handled under our Terms.

Can you make the series for us?

Yes, for businesses. Send a brief and a script and the StudioRam team builds the cast and delivers finished episodes for approval. See studioram.app/business for pricing.

How is StudioRam different from AI video clip generators?

Clip generators make single shots. StudioRam is built for series: saved characters, scene-to-scene continuation, voice, sound and editing in one place, so the output is a finished episode rather than loose clips.

Getting started

What can I do in StudioRam?

You can name a series, make characters and places, plan your story, lay it out as a comic, turn scenes into video, edit scenes together, add voices and music, and share or export the result. Everything you make is kept in your Library so you can reuse it.

Where do I start?

Open Create, choose your animation style, then make your first character. The Create page walks you through it, and the guide shows every step with pictures.

Do I have to make a whole series?

No. You can animate one photo, or make one scene, without a series. A series just keeps your characters, places and look the same across everything you make.

What do I have to pay for, and what is free?

Building your story is free: characters, places, plans, comics, and still pictures (with a daily limit on new pictures). Animating a scene into video uses credits. You always see the cost before it is spent. New accounts get one free animation to try.

Why are credits limited?

Animation is the part that costs the most to make. We keep it as the one paid moment so you can plan, draw and arrange for free, then spend credits only on the scenes that matter.

How do credits work?

Each animated scene uses credits. The cost is shown before you confirm, and nothing is spent until you say so. If a picture or clip fails to make, the credit is returned. See Plans for how to get more.

Characters, places and series

How do I keep my character looking the same?

Make them in the Character Creator, either from a photo or from a description. They are saved to your cast and keep the same face, hair and outfit every time you use them.

What does "chroma-keyed" mean for my characters?

Every character you make also gets a cut-out version with the background removed (we call it chroma-keyed). It is a transparent picture that can sit on top of any place. Dragging cut-outs into your scenes is coming soon, and so are twelve ready-made poses per character.

Can I reuse a place?

Yes. Save a place in the Location Creator and every scene set there uses the same place. Your places live under Locations.

What is Series Maker?

Type one idea and Series Maker plans the cast and the shots, draws a storyboard for you to check, then makes a short episode of about 20 or 30 seconds, or a narrated story told in pictures. Planning and the storyboard are free. Credits are used only when you press Make, and you see the cost first. It is in beta and launching soon.

How do I make the next episode?

Open the finished episode, type what happens next and press Plan the next episode. The cast and the look stay the same. Series Maker is in beta.

Can I make more than one series?

Yes. In Series Maker, each idea starts a new series and "Next episode" adds to it. Series Maker is in beta.

Comic Lab

What is Comic Lab?

A comic book maker built on your own story. It reads your characters, scenes and script, lays out the pages for you, puts your pictures in the panels and your dialogue in speech balloons. Then you fix whatever you like by hand.

Who can use Comic Lab?

Comic Lab is in beta and is switched on for selected accounts. If you open it and see "Comic Lab isn't available yet", it isn't on for your account yet. It will open to more people at launch.

Does Comic Lab use credits?

Reading your story, arranging pages, editing, previewing, sharing and exporting are free. Credits are used only when you make a new picture for an empty panel (Auto-fill), animate a scene, or redo a scene. The cost is always shown first and you confirm.

What styles can my comic have?

Comic Lab starts from the look of your own pictures. On top of that you choose a page look for each page: a big moment, a chase, a quiet talking page, a big reveal, quick cuts and more. Page looks change the layout and are free to switch. Sample pages we show are previews of different looks, from superhero and manga to noir, ligne claire and webtoon strips.

Can I share my comic?

Yes. Share makes a link anyone can open and read without signing in. You can also share a single page. Sharing is free and view-only: they can read the comic, and they cannot edit it.

Can I print or download it?

Yes. Export PDF makes a print-ready file (300 DPI, with bleed, US comic page size). It is free. On the Free plan the PDF is watermarked. Other page sizes are coming soon.

Can I animate a panel from my comic?

Yes, that is the idea. Select a panel with a picture and choose Animate. You see the credit cost first. The new clip shows up in your Scenes tray and you drag it onto the panel. Animate is in beta. Placing the clip into the panel for you is coming soon.

Can I add or move speech balloons?

You can edit the words in every balloon, and Comic Lab places them for you. Adding, moving and deleting balloons by hand is coming soon.

Is my comic saved?

Yes. It saves a couple of seconds after you stop, and you can save a snapshot and restore it any time. You can come back every day and pick up where you left off.

Video, voice and editing

Can I edit my scenes into one video?

Yes. The Video Editor is free to open and use. You can put scenes on a timeline, reorder, trim, and add subtitles and music. It is in beta. Upgrade to Pro to export.

Can I add voices and music?

Yes. Pick a voice for each character, change the voice on a finished video, or add your own voice-over. Music and sound effects can be added in the editor.

Can I change the voice after the video is made?

Yes, with Change Voice. Free accounts get one try per video, and paid accounts get more.

Sharing, account and help

How do I share a video?

Open it from your Library and use Share. You get a link anyone can watch. Free videos carry a watermark.

Can I download my video?

Yes, from your Library. Paid accounts get clean downloads without the watermark.

Where is everything I made?

In your Library: characters, scenes and locations, plus your comics in Comic Lab. Your cast and your locations each have their own page.

Can I delete or archive things?

Yes. Deleting a story only removes the story. The scenes it was made from stay in your Library. Comics can be archived and restored.

What if something does not look right?

Fix one thing instead of starting over: redo a scene with a note about what to change, change the voice, or edit the scene. Use Help in the app, or contact us.
